A man has been served a significant fine after travelling on the railway without a valid ticket.
The case of Jason Sewell, 48, of Little Marlow Road, Marlow, went before Reading Magistrates' Court on November 10 last year.
This was in connection with an incident in July.
Sewell was found on a Great Western Rail train at Slough without a valid ticket - and was suspected of travelling without any intention of paying.
The ticket would have cost him £14.60.
Sewell failed to appear before magistrates on the day of his hearing - but the court went ahead with proceedings against him in his absence.
The defendant was fined £440 - and, in addition to this, he will also be expected to pay back the full price of the ticket.
He has also been ordered to pay a £176 victim surcharge and £180 in court costs.
