Handy Cross electricity cable works to start at sports centre site
WORK will start next week on the diversion of a major electricity cable ahead of the construction of the new Wycombe Sports and Leisure Centre at Handy Cross.
Contractors for Scottish and Southern Energy are relocating a mains cable that crosses the site.
The work is alongside the motorway boundary of the site and will involve extensive excavations and the felling of some trees.
However, Wycombe District Council says the landscape plan for the site as a whole will compensate, with substantial new tree planting, 'green roofs' and areas of water.
