Bucks Free Press: Arson suspected as building damaged in five vehicle fire Arson suspected as building damaged in five vehicle fire

A BUILDING sustained heavy damage and five vehicles were destroyed following an arson attack on a High Wycombe business park.

A further six vehicles on the Britannia Industrial Park in Dashwood Avenue were also vandalised just before 1am today, police said.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue said radiated heat from two seperate fires caused ten percent fire and 100 percent smoke damage to an adjacent two-storey business premises, which is currently vacant.

Thames Valley Police said the fires were started deliberately and multiple windows were smashed on a further six cars parked at the industrial park, which is home to four car garages.

Zeeshan Khan, whose father owns Kings Motors next door, said two of the fire-torn vehicles were owned by customers and fears the attack could damage the image of the four companies.

He added: “Our businesses were the target today but it could be a house full of children next time, something has to be done to stop this.”

A police cordon is in place at the scene as a forensic team investigates.

Ch Insp Colin Seaton, Deputy Area Commander, said: “Fortunately nobody has been injured but there is a cordon in place to allow the police and fire investigators to carry out their enquiries.

“It appears that as well as the arson, six further vehicles which were parked in the area, have had their windows smashed at the same time.

“The neighbourhood policing team is working to offer reassurance to those in the area while we carry out a thorough investigation and find whoever is responsible for this.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage anyone with information and who has not yet contacted the police, to come forward.”

Contact police on the 101 enquiry line with any information or, if you do not wish to speak to the police, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
