Web series star hails from High Wycombe
THE star of a popular web series who hails from High Wycombe is looking forward to seeing the second series go straight to TV.
Letitia Hector still holds down a day job while she continues to take her acting and singing career further.
When I spoke to Letitia on the phone it almost sounded like she couldn't believe her luck. She is one of the lead female characters in web series Venus Vs Mars, which is now onto its second series.
She has also just won a Screen Nation Award- the event is sponsored by Google and was held at the Google HQ- for 'Favourite Webseries Actress'. To add to this Venus vs Mars also won 'Favourite Webseries'.
Letitia, who is 25, also has her own radio show on Bang FM from 4 to 7pm. This is all while holding down a day job in Business Accounts for an Apple Reseller in London Bridge.
She said: "Yeah, I am trying to be excited! I am glad how the year ended and I hope to continue with that progress."
She was filming the second series which should be coming out next month and it is going to be televised too.
So how did she get the role on the webseries, which follows Venus' quest to find true love. She said: "I applied for a theatre production and for the theatre role they never got back to me.
"About eight months later I had a phone asking me about this role. I wasn't too sure what to expect.
"We started filming a week after the interview. Since then it has gone from one to 100 really quickly.
"We didn't know what to expect when the first episode was released. We didn't film in advance and the first episode got 60,000 views.
"People were asking, When is the next one?"
The cast and crew had to respond quickly by filming the next episodes.
Although she has had previous acting roles- this is the one which has gained her the most publicity.
Letitia, who is from Cressex, went to Jackie Palmer Stage School. She did a lot of theatre productions and also did amateur productions. She also sang at the Roundhouse Youth Centre.
She studied performing arts for three years at Henley College, which she really enjoyed, then she went onto do musical theatre at Bucks New Uni.
"When I was three my mum would have me performing like a little puppet.
"Back then I thought it was entertaining," she laughed.
She moved to London a year ago to Chiswick and goes out with top UK artist, Funny Tummy.
Letitia said: "Acting and singing is my passion. As long as I am in performance I don't mind."
