SIR Steve Redgrave is swapping his oars for skis as he gears up for a new Channel 4 reality show starting this weekend.
Marlow’s favourite sporting son is set to compete alongside 11 other celebrities to take on some of the most terrifying and gruelling winter sports including the ski jump and skeleton.
And the 51-year-old is no stranger to downhill competition, having bobsleighed as part of the British four-man team in 1989.
The show, which begins on Sunday at 8pm, also features Anthea Turner, hairdresser Nicky Clarke and former page three model Melinda Messenger.
Winter Olympic skier Graham Bell and Winter Olympic Skeleton gold medallist Amy Williams will put Sir Steve through his paces on the Austrian mountainside, with the worst performing contestants facing elimination each week.
The show is scheduled to coincide with the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, which begins next month.
