A SPRING clean of Chesham's High Street is taking place this week.

Volunteers are being sought by members of the Chesham in Bloom campaign group to help pick up litter from around the town centre.

The event has been arranged after members signed up to the LitterAction campaign, a nationwide group that aims to clean up town centres around the country.

Chesham's spring clean will take place from 4.30-5.30pm on Thursday, March 13. Anyone wanting to take part should meet outside Boots in The Broadway, where pickers and black bags will be provided. Volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves.

M40 says...

If the local council was doing it's job properly there would be no need for volunteers, in doing so it could reduce the unemployment numbers, unless some people are already employed to do it but taking the easy road.

The shopkeepers should take some responsibility for the mire around them, the local authorities should trace the source and prosecute under the litter acts.
