VOLUNTEERS have received a £10,000 grant towards a new community centre planned for the Wycombe Marsh.

The Heart of Ryemead Community Association and The Trades and Social Club have been handed the grant from the Paradigm Foundation.

The cash will be used towards the development of the Wrights Meadow Centre, which is expected to open in the summer.

Secretary of the Wrights Meadow Centre, Jean Peasley, said: “Everyone involved has helped us make this fantastic new facility a reality and we hope that once it is open the community will want to visit us."

The Paradigm Foundation was launched last year.

It provides funding to help those into further education, work and training, to strengthen local communities and support people on low income and welfare benefits.

Mike Gahagan, Chair of the Paradigm Foundation, said: "The Wrights Meadow Centre is going to be a great place for Paradigm residents and other members of the community to come together.”
