A NEW hub for businesspeople to work from has opened in Chesham.

Buckinghamshire County Council Leader Martin Tett performed the ribbon cutting to the new hub - one of a number planned for around the county - at the town's library.

He said: "Developments like the hub at Chesham Library make a big difference to our business community. This hub, with all its facilities for small businesses, will add great value, helping business flourish and, in turn, stimulate growth in jobs."

The new hub, which provides meeting rooms, office space and WiFi, was launched after a campaign by Buckinghamshire Business First - whose members are able to use it for free.

It's also been given the backing of the newly-renamed Chiltern Chamber, which is based in Chesham.

Vice chairman of the group Andy Garnett said: "It's to provide people who are home-based with a place to work that's quite business focused and has got the technology within it. It gives people the opportunity to network with other people."

The Chesham Hub is open from 9.30am-7pm on Mondays and Thursdays, 9.30am-5.30pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 9.30am-5pm on Saturdays. It is closed on Fridays and Sundays.
