YOUNGSTERS are being encouraged to take part in an event in the Hughenden Parish to make sure their voices are heard.

Hughenden Parish Council is holding a youth event during the Easter holidays on April 17 from 12 to 4pm at Naphill Village Hall.

There will be a skate ramp, football and a sound studio.

Cllr Linda Derrick and Cllr Shade Adoh have set up the event for ages 11 to 18.

Cllr Derrick said: "The purpose of it is to get their views about Hughenden and what the parish should be doing, not just for young people, but for everybody and what they can contribute."

They are currently working with a group of about eight youngsters who are advising them on what they should do on the day.

There are 951 people in the area, aged 11 to 18, and they want to get as many involved as possible.

Cllr Derrick said:"We just want as many as possible to roll up and have fun and bring their skateboards with them and answer some questions.

"We are going to try and provide a bit of food."

Email youth@hughendenpc.org.uk if you are interested in getting involved.

They are meeting on Friday at 6.30pm at the parish council offices in Great Kingshill. Willing youngsters can just turn up to the meeting.
