COUNCILLORS want to hear resident’s views on how money used to improve the town should be spent.

Every year a Bucks County Council Localities Budget is made available to make improvements to the town.

Beaconsfield Town Councillors now want to know peoples view on how the money could be best spent to make Beaconsfield a nicer place.

Beaconsfield North Ward Councillor, Matt Denyer, said: “It is important people come forward and speak to the council because they can have an input on how this money is spent.

“The localities budget is different because we get to say how the money can be spent and we can therefore spend it on things that we wouldn’t normally get funding for.”

The council are looking for proposals on what to do with the next localities budget which runs from April 2015 to March 2016.

This year’s budget has already been allocated.

£12,000 will be spent on the Holtspur Recreation Ground whilst the rest of the annual budget, which is normally around £45,000, is being spent on traffic calming measures in Holtspur Top Lane.

Cllr Denyer added: “This is for local projects which directly affect our community. It allows us to make more improvements.”

The council have asked that anyone with suggestions for how the money could be spent should get in touch.

However, to be able to act on any proposals they all have to be thought out and examined.

Cllr Denyer said any suggestions will be greatly received; it would also really help if these suggestions were in-depth and included some plans and ideas of cost.

As well as this, Cllr Denyer also warned that changes have been made to how the money can be used so people should enquire first before submitting their full proposals.

To make a proposal either email town.clerk@beaconsfieldtowncouncil.gov.uk or visit: www.beaconsfieldtowncouncil.gov.uk, to speak directly to the councillor in your ward.
