BOGUS callers claiming to sell products on behalf of Thames Valley Probation have been targeting Beaconsfield residents.
The doorstep callers claim to either be working on a Probation Service-approved selling scheme or ask for money towards an apprenticeship scheme.
But Paul Gillbard, Chief Executive Officer for Thames Valley Probation, said: "Thames Valley Probation does not involve offenders in any type of doorstep scheme and we certainly do not endorse anyone asking for money, whether they are selling goods or not.
"No-one should be using probation’s name in this way, or claiming to be on probation. It’s definitely a scam."
Richard Vine, Neighbourhood Police Inspector from Thames Valley Police, added: "Anyone who is contact by someone claiming to be working with the Probation Service in this way should definitely not hand over any money and is advised to contact the police on 101 with as much information and detail as possible."
