A FAIR Trade coffee company is aiming to roast their opponents at Scannappeal’s annual stretcher race next month.

An eight-person team from High Wycombe-based firm Peros has signed up to the six mile Phoenix Trail Stretcher Challenge on May 10.

Peros has raised about £25,000 for charity by taking part in various events around south Buckinghamshire in the last 12 months, including last year's stretcher challenge and the Twilight Walk through Marlow.

Peter Goodey, Peros MD and charity trustee, said: “The guys had great fun doing it last year so they were keen to do it again and support Scannappeal.

“I don’t think it will kill us off but I have been secretly doing a few practice runs and I’m sure the rest of the team have as well.”

Teams will be tested on their mental and observational skills with a series of mini challenges, while carrying a traditional stretcher to try and win the coveted Scannappeal Stretcher Challenge Cup.
