A PUB drinker sustained a broken jaw after being punched in the face in Beaconsfield.

Police said the 39-year-old was standing with two other men near the bar in The Swan at about 11pm on May 4 when he was punched in the jaw.

It caused the victim to fall backwards and cut his head on a table.

He was taken to Wexham Park Hospital before being transferred to Northwick Park Hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.

Police said the alleged attacked is described as a white male in his thirties. He is about 5ft 7ins tall of medium to stocky build with short brown hair. He was wearing a white, short-sleeved hooded top.

Investigating officer, Det Con Nigel Elmes from Amersham Force CID said: “The man who attacked the victim was inside The Swan pub for approximately 15 minutes before the assault took place.

“The pub was extremely busy at the time and I would appeal to any customers who may be witnesses to this incident to call police.”

• Police said a 33-year-old man from Hazlemere has been arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and has been released on police bail until June 17.
