A RUGBY World Cup winner will turn his hand to golf next week as he appears at a charity event in Marlow.

Former England scrum half Andy Gomarsall, who lives in Marlow, is taking part in the golfing challenge for the School of Hard Knocks charity.

Gomarsall, who played for clubs including Wasps, Bath, Gloucester and Harlequins during his illustrious career, is a trustee of the organisation, which uses sport to tackle social issues.

And the 39-year-old, who was part of the 2003 Rugby World Cup winning England squad, is still looking for golfers to dust off their clubs and take part.

He said: “SOHK is a charity very close to my heart and that is why I have organised this fundraising event at my local golf club.

“We have had a lot of interest so far so we should raise a good amount, but there is still time for people to book a place to support this fabulous cause while enjoying a round of golf at a fantastic establishment.”

The golf day starts at 10am on Tuesday, May 20 at Harleyford Golf Club. To get involved, contact Dominie Bradshaw on 07894 981001 or by email dominie@minteventmanagement.co.uk
