PLANS to knock down a former pub and restaurant to build homes have been recommended for refusal.
The planning committee at Wycombe District Council discussed the plans last night to build terraced homes and a block of flats at The Black Prince in Wycombe Road, Princes Risborough.
The decision was deferred to the head of planning and sustainability to refuse, following concerns by councillors on a number of points including; it was out of character and the style was not appropriate for the area.
It is a full planning application for a terrace of houses and a single apartment building with access proposed from Poppy Road.
It has been vacant for a year, after the last business, an Indian restaurant called Zest, was closed.
Planning officers actually recommended the plans for approval as they said there was no sound planning basis to refuse.
