THE best of the Beaconsfield will be on display next week as a number of businesses, clubs and community groups join together.

Organised by the Beaconsfield Society, Beaconsfield Now! could be bigger than ever before, with about 40 groups taking part.

A number of influential people known to the area will also be in attendance.

The event which will be held on the Town Council Green, will see stall holders showcasing what the town has to offer.

Numerous non-for-profit organisations will set up next Saturday, June 14, to display what they do and will continue to do within the area.

Companies already signed up for the annual day include the Cycle Path Action Group, The Beacon Centre and Holtspur Football Club.

The event is expected to be opened by the Beaconsfield Society’s citizen of the year, Sheila Newland, whilst town crier, Dick Smith and newly appointed Mayor of Beaconsfield Steve Jones will also be on hand.

Compere for the afternoon will be Bob Massie, known for his work at the Red Lion in Knotty Green alongside his wife and pub landlady, Tina Massie.

Beaconsfield MP, Dominic Grieve, will also be making an appearance during the morning.

Beaconsfield Society member, Debbie Marsden, said: “The event will be opened by Sheila Newland known by many for her work in local choirs and theatres. “She will be joined by The Town Crier and our new Mayor as well as our compere Bob Massie. Dominic Grieve will join us late morning after parliamentary work.

“We hope local residents will join us to find out more about what is happening around Beaconsfield.”

She added the event promises to be an excellent community family day.

Other organisations who have signed up for the day include Beaconsfield Model Railway Club, Air Cadets, the Youth theatre and the Scouts and Guides.

Beaconsfield Society also said The WI, Churches Together, Simply Walking, St Marys and All Saints Bell Ringers and U3A are joining the event for the first time.

As well as the numerous stalls there will also be entertainment, food and drink on offer.

This year’s Beaconsfield Now! which organisers hope will be even better than last year’s event is going be held on Saturday, June 14, from 10am until 1pm.
