A BUDDING author is hoping to raise money for charity when she launches her first novel next week.

HR consultant Amanda Hatter, will be selling copies of her children’s book, ‘Callum Fox and the Mousehole Ghost’, at The Beech House, in Penn Road, Beaconsfield, next Tuesday.

In a bid to make her project a charitable venture she will donate £1 for every one book sold to Help for Heroes charity, Words for the Wounded.

The national charity raises money to help in the recovery of wounded troops through writing prizes, events and donations.

The Beech House will also be donating £1 for every one hot drink sold.

Amanda, who suffered from dyslexia at a young age, was spurred on to pen her first novel after winning awards for her short stories.

Amanda said: “I enjoyed writing the shorter stories so thought it was a good idea to attempt to write my first novel.

“It was a lot more difficult than I expected.”

“I am pleased with it now it has been finished and just hope it raises a bit of money for this great charity” she added.

The book centres on main character Callum. He discovers a world of unknown while on holiday in Cornwall as he befriends the ghost of a World War II evacuee.

The book will be sold on Tuesday, June 24, from 8.30am until 11.30am.
