AN elderly woman died from serious head injuries after a fall during a trip into High Wycombe town to pay her weekly bills, an inquest heard.
Brenda Davies, 84, was waiting for a taxi driver to retrieve her mobility aid from the boot when she fell backwards and cracked her head on the High Street pavement on May 29.
The Mead Way resident was helped in to Santander before she was taken to Wexham Park Hospital.
She died on June 2 from her head injuries.
The Buckinghamshire Coroner Richard Hulett recorded a conclusion of accidental death at Tuesday’s inquest, which was held at Beaconsfield Coroner’s Court.
He said: “People are often doing something quite routine and falls often happen, particularly when you get to a certain age, in the most mundane and common circumstances.
"This was an accidental fall. There's nothing to show anything [other than that]."
