MORE than 1000 friends of Godstowe School enjoyed a “phenomenal” music and food festival on Sunday.
The Amersham Road-based school’s inaugural festival featured two stages of live music, ranging from gospel and R&B to pop and indie.
Foodies taste buds were tingling after sampling the goods on offer from four different vendors, with a further 12 craft and food stalls on offer to visitors.
While the adults enjoyed the music, youngsters took part in netball and circus workshops in the event organised by the Friends of Godstowe charity.
Chairman Joelle Granwal said: “It was an outstanding success.
“We raised a bit of money but from the outset we made it clear it wasn’t about fundraising. We wanted to make it an inclusive day out for all the family, with something for a three-year-old up to the oldest grandparent.
“We have never done it before so I don’t think people were entirely sure what to expect but it was phenomenal and everyone is already asking when the next one will be – probably 2016.”
