CONTROVERSIAL plans to convert the Downley Donkey pub into a Morrison’s store will be mulled over by planning bosses tonight.

The proposals to build a rear extension, add an ATM and make other external alterations to the Plomer Green Lane pub will be discussed by Wycombe District Council’s Planning Committee.

Downley Parish Council, Cllr Paul Turner and Cllr Wendy Mallen have raised concerns about the plan – which has attracted 82 letters of objection and a petition signed by 462 people.

The pub closed in March to the dismay of Downley residents.

The meeting gets underway from 7pm in the Council Chamber at WDC’s headquarters in Queen Victoria Road, High Wycombe.
