Here's an idea - rather than "surface dressing" (ie: spraying a bit of tar, then throwing some grit at it - and hoping some of it sticks), why not fix the **** roads properly?

I had the misfortune of using the A40 between Loudwater and Beaconsfield last Thursday - the very same day as it was "surface dressed" - and it was already worn back through to the original road surface in many places.

TfB = not fit for purpose
