THE Chiltern Society is next holding a work party at Brush Hill next Thursday.
This month they will be preparing for the arrival later in the year of the Herdwick sheep, by removing the ragwort in the chalk grassland and also arresting the succession of stinging nettles in the woodland glade cleared in January this year.
No skills are necessary except good humour and enthusiasm. Working areas are not large and can be sloped so dress sensibly.
August’s work party meet in White Leaf Hill car park off Peter’s Lane at 10 am and work through until 1pm, with a refreshment break in between.
If you would like to attend call David Kent on 07968200287.
