GIRLS at Wycombe Abbey school have yet again had outstanding success in this year’s A Level examinations.
Ninety per cent achieved A*/A grades and 48 per cent achieved A* grades.
Six students took the Cambridge Pre-U, with five achieving the highest grade of D1, which exceeds an A* at A Level, and one gaining a D2, a result equivalent to that of an A* at A Level.
Wycombe Abbey girls are now progressing to top British and overseas universities, with the vast majority surpassing the grade requirements for their first choice university and well over a third of the year group taking up their places at Oxford and Cambridge.
Headmistress Rhiannon Wilkinson said: "These are superb results and I congratulate the girls on their dedication and hard work and their teachers for their unstinting support and care of their students both in and outside of the classroom.
"Year on year the girls at Wycombe Abbey achieve some of the best public examination results in the country while at the same time managing to excel in a huge range of extracurricular activities. They are really exceptional girls and richly deserve their success."
Wycombe Abbey, a girls’ boarding school for 11 to 18-year-olds, is committed to admitting academically gifted girls and offers bursaries to those who would not otherwise be able to attend the school.
