JUNIOR bakers have the chance to be crowned Little Marlow’s cup cake connoisseur when judging for a bake off competition begins at the village fete this bank holiday.

After its successful introduction last year, the village’s cake competition returns to give aspiring Mary Berrys a chance to come sporting sponges for judging by cake expert Bernard Burger of Burger’s Bakery.

The fete features a feast of familiar family fayre favourites, as the ever-popular Bank Holiday Monday party returns to Little Marlow Recreation Ground after a record-breaking attendance last summer.

A dog show, which proved such a hit last year, also returns for preened pooches to perform for prizes.

A range of stalls, children’s races and rides, a bouncy castle, face painting, coconut shy, plate smashing, a tombola, raffle, mini-train, afternoon teas, ice cream and hamburgers completes the dizzying array of activities on offer.

Music comes courtesy of jazz quartet Acoustic Jazz.

And the bake off is looking for junior entries to be judged for both the best tasting and best decorated cup cake on show.

All the money raised will go to good causes and organisations in the area, with organisers looking to beat the £6600 pulled in last year.
