LAST night of the proms comes to Cookham next month in an evening of music with a spectacular fireworks finale to raise funds towards a church extension.

Cookham Dean Church needs to find the remaining funds to pay for the ‘Jubilee Vestry’ which was completed last year.

And in an evening similar to the Proms in the Park events across the country, revellers will take to the outdoors for the musical extravaganza at Mount Farm on Saturday, September 13.

As well as a live Abba tribute band, the closing half of the last night of the proms will be shown on a huge screen, with a fireworks display to mark the close of the annual concert from the Royal Albert Hall.

Gazebo places are available to pre-book, with visitors able to bring their own picnics and drink as well as their own tables and chairs if they so wish.

Gates open at 6pm, and tickets must be bought in advance.

Tickets cost £30 each, and are available by calling Barbara Dent on 01628 476512 or Lorna Sykes 01628 486874 or from the Stationery Depot, Station Parade, Cookham Rise
