A CONTROVERSIAL planning application has now been submitted to Wycombe District Council.
The applicant, Molins PLC, wants to build 90 homes and a community sports facility at the site of the former Molins Sports Ground and The Haven in Mill Lane, Monks Risborough.
They also want to demolish the existing dwelling, form a new site access and build associated roads, pathways, ancillary storage and parking areas, amenity spaces and landscaping.
The site is in the green belt and The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has caused controversy among the community.
Campaigners fought long and hard to buy the sports ground for the community but started to give up hope in 2012 when a bid to buy the land was rejected.
Another large planning application in Mill Lane for 210 homes is also currently being decided by Wycombe District Council.
The Molins application's reference number is 14/07148/OUT and is available to view on the Wycombe District Council planning portal.
