A CAR sales business could be set up to replace a pub in Chesham.

Plans to convert the Wild Rover pub in Amersham Road into a new business have been submitted to Chiltern District Council.

Documents submitted to the authority as part of the application say a maximum of 17 vehicles will be parked on the site at any one time.

If given the go-ahead the business would open from 9am-6pm on weekdays and 9am-1pm on Saturdays and employ three people. The first floor of the building would continue to be used for residential purposes.

The Wild Rover's licence was surrendered back to the council in January 2011 and it ceased to operate as a pub.

Last year plans to convert it into seven flats were rejected.

It's understood the application will be 'called in' to be examined by members of Chiltern District Council's planning committee, who will rule on whether to permit the proposals at a meeting at a later date.

Last month plans to convert the currently empty Rose and Crown in Waterside into housing were submitted, while in March proposals to demolish the Nash Arms in Vale Road were approved on appeal.
