STUDENTS in Gerrards Cross led the way in remembering our fallen war heroes last week and were each given a poignant book which was initially produced for soldiers on the front-line.
To commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War, the Staff and children were all given a copy of St Luke's Gospel with a commemorative insert.
These gospels were given to every soldier on the front line in the First World War and were designed to be the right size to fit into the front pocket of a soldier's uniform so it could be carried with him at all times.
Gayhurst School Year 8 student, Ben Hunt (pictured), played the Last Post following a two-minute silence and special remembrance service on Tuesday, November 11, at 11am.
The teenager even made a bit of school history by playing the musical piece on a Saxophone.
During the service, taken by The Rev. Orr-Ewing, the School Choir sung I vow to thee my country before the whole School joined in with the hymn Abide with me.
