A race with a difference on the streets of Amersham raised £2,000 for charity.

Children took part in a coin race along Sycamore Road, asking for donations from shoppers and passers-by to create the longest line of loose change along the street.

In a battle of girls versus boys, the girls were victorious as their line of coins reached further along the road.

All the money raised from the event will be donated to the Street Kids Direct charity, whose founder Duncan Dyason organised it.

Chiltern District Council chairman Mimi Harker, who attended the coin race, said: "It is always a great pleasure to support community groups to raise much needed funding for their causes, and on this occasion, as I have worked with Dunc Dyason and his fabulous team for so many years, it was a pleasure and a real delight to help with raising funds for such an amazing cause."
