Shoppers had to be evacuated from a Tesco store in Amersham after a blaze started in the roof space.
The large store in London Road West was closed for about an hour as firefighters isolated the electricity to stop the blaze spreading at about 1.45pm.
It is believed the fire started in a lighting distribution unit in the roof space.
Two fire crews from Amersham and one from Chesham, along with an officer, attended and used a thermal imaging camera.
The store has now been re-opened.
