An accountancy firm in Amersham organised a ‘Bake-Off’ last month week which raised hundreds of pounds for cancer charities.

Wilkins Kennedy’s Amersham office raised £520 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Care during the morning event.

Partners and staff at the firm were asked to anonymously submit cakes for judging in a ‘Bake Off’ style competition and each entrant paid a £2 donation to the charities.

Breast Cancer Care say there are 570,000 women in the UK are currently living with a breast cancer diagnosis.

Robyn Carlson, Fundraising Executive at Breast Cancer Care, said: “We are hugely grateful for Wilkins Kennedy’s fantastic efforts and choosing to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

“With this help, we can provide care, support and information for anyone affected by breast cancer, from day one.”

The winner of the Bake Off competition was Felicity Clarke, who has held on to her winner’s title from last year with her ‘Pouring Pink’ cake.

There was a donation from one of Wilkins Kennedy’s clients, The Bedford Arms, who submitted a cake to sell at the event.

Stephen Grant, Partner at Wilkins Kennedy Amersham, said: “There was plenty of dedication and effort from our Bake Off entries this year and well done to Felicity on her fantastic win.

“We would also like to thank Peter and his team at The Bedford Arms for such a fantastic offering and to all those who turned up to help us raise such a significant amount.”
