A Beaconsfield business that supported a Christmas campaign to send shoeboxes full of presents to deprived children in war torn countries around the world has been thanked by a national charity for its help.

Regus, a workspace provider which also has centres at The Broadway in Amersham and Kingsmead Business Park in High Wycombe, collected hundreds of shoeboxes in support of Operation Christmas Child, an initiative that has been run by international relief charity Samaritan’s Purse since 1990.

The campaign aims to send shoeboxes full of presents to children living in refugee camps, orphanages and impoverished neighbourhoods.

The shoeboxes, put together by members of the public, local businesses, schools and churches, contained everything from sweets and toys to toothbrushes, colouring books and stickers.

This is the third year Regus has been involved with the appeal and over 300 centres across the country have collected over 15,000 shoeboxes between them.

Richard Morris, CEO of Regus in the UK, said: “We’re always delighted to support the appeal and the response this year has been overwhelming. Our centre teams thoroughly enjoyed their participation and were very happy to get involved and do their bit to help this very worthwhile cause.”

Simon Barrington, Executive Director of Samaritan’s Purse thanked the company for their “continued support” during the appeal.

He said: “We would also like to extend our thanks to all the members of the public who wrapped, packed and brought in their shoeboxes.

“Because of them, many thousands of children who otherwise wouldn’t have received any presents this Christmas knew they weren’t forgotten.”
