One of Bucks’ most popular comedy venues is set to host a festival later this month.

The 'With In-Tent’ comedy festival takes place from April 29 to May 1 opposite The Potters Arms in Winchmore Hill and features Lee Hurst, Zoe Lyons and Sean Meo.

As well as offering a line-up of top comedians, the event includes kids comedy workshops and all proceeds will go to Sue Ryder and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Other performers include Darren Walsh, winner of the Edinburgh Fringe ‘Funniest Joke’ last year, Comedy Store regular Paul Thorne and Alex Lowe from the hit TV series ‘Phoenix Nights’.

‘With In-Tent’ is the brainchild of Potters Arms landlord Richard Edwards, who has built the pub’s reputation for comedy over the last four years with popular comedy gigs every month.

He said: “I’ve wanted to run a festival for a while, and this year’s my 40th birthday so it felt like a great way to celebrate.

“With 14 comedians performing, plus the workshop and show for the children, it’s been a massive event for us to organise, and I’m grateful to all the companies and individuals who have offered sponsorship or other support to get this off the ground.

“We’re hugely excited about our first comedy festival and delighted that we are able to support two very worthy charities.”
