Festival fever swept across south Bucks on Saturday as crowds flocked to Amersham and Princes Risborough to enjoy the annual town celebrations.

Thousands of people got into the Rio spirit at Amersham town carnival on Saturday (July 9), which started with a themed procession through the town before heading back to the King George V playing fields.

Crowds in brightly-coloured costumes also enjoyed live music, donkey rides, a barbecue and beer tent and performances.

Meanwhile in Princes Risborough, residents turned out for the annual town festival, which celebrated the best of Britain.

Keen bakers displayed their best creations in the Risborough Bake Off competition and families took part in a free fun run in Wades Park.

There was also a fancy dress competition, street festival and entertainment from performing arts school, Stageplus and three-piece band The City Boys.
