A new police team to tackle problems in Wood Green Shopping City was launched this week.
Nine officers are now based in the High Road shopping centre following the success of a pilot scheme called Operation Partnership last year.
Sgt Lee Adamson said: The aim is to create a safer and more welcoming environment by instilling the traditional qualities of the old style community policing.
The police are committed to bringing harmony to the area and putting smiles on peoples faces whilst increasing confidence in the measures taken by everyone to make positive changes.
We will work in partnership with the town centre ambassadors, in-store security, CCTV, the Town Centre Manager and Haringey Council services to form a unique team.
