Actor's grand gesture

ACTOR Geoffrey Palmer had luck after scooping money in the Three Hospices Lottery Draw, of which he is patron. He returned some of it.
Mr Palmer, who stars in the BBC1 sitcom The Savages and lives in The Chilterns, won £1,000 in the lottery. He is also patron of the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home. He has been subscribing to the hospice lottery since it started nearly three years ago, and says it is a fun way to support the charity.

Man in court over taxi armed robbery
A MAN has appeared in court today charged with an armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery - both allegedly committed on taxi drivers.
Derek John Keith Taylor, 25, is accused of robbing a cab driver in Holmer's Lane, Cressex on November 18.
Plasterer died from fumes and asthma
A PLASTERER died from toxic fumes from a generator and asthma, an inquest found today.
Sam James, 20, was found in a cupboard under the stairs of a new home he was working on on January 3 this year.
