Following the success of the winning dog act on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, the organisers behind the annual Beaconsfield Country Fayre hope to prove that their town is full of talent.

As part of the town’s showpiece event on the August Bank Holiday, the fun-filled dog show will return allowing residents to pit hound against hound.

The contest will be judged under a number of different categories, including Pedigree Classes and the Dog with the Waggiest Tail award.

Last year’s event was hit by bad weather, but the rain failed to dampen the spirits of the entrants into the dog show and organisers are hoping more people will sign up for this year’s competition.

Co-chairman of the Beaconsfield Country Fayre, Sylvia Jones, said: “It was great to see so many dogs being entered last year despite the appalling weather and this year there are ten classes to choose from.

“There is the ever popular class for the pet that looks like its owner which has owners dressing up as dogs to improve their chances of winning, but new this year is a senior’s class.”
