A by-election will be held in Beaconsfield after a councillor resigned after just three months.

A vacancy became available on the town council after cllr Jacquetta Lowen-Cooper stepped down in July.

It is still unclear why the Central ward councillor left her post.

A by-election was triggered after at least ten residents submitted a written request to South Bucks District Council.

Nominations must be bought to the returning officer in person at the SBDC offices in Oxford Road, Denham by 4pm on August 27.

If the election is contested, a poll will take place on Thursday, September 24.

Anyone who is interested in standing in the election can download a nomination pack and find out more information at www.electoralcommission.org.uk.
