An annual event that brings showcases the work of charities and not-for-profit organisations in Beaconsfield is set to return this summer.

The Beaconsfield Society has hosted Beaconsfield Now! for more than 20 years and the popular event will be held again on June 18 to help charities and groups including education, theatre and sports organisations recruit more members and volunteers.

The yearly celebration looks set to bring the community together, with the town mayor, town crier Dick Smith and a local ‘celebrity’ all visiting to open the event, and entertainment provided by primary and secondary school children, with refreshments provided by the Scouts and Guides.

There will also be plenty to keep children entertained, with a bouncy castle and other amusements, while Bucks Fire and Rescue are set to attend, allowing older children the chance to hop on board their fire engine and St John’s Ambulance.

The society has taken on board feedback from a questionnaire handed out at last year’s event to make sure 2016 is better than ever and has introduced a central marquee for stallholders as well as gazebos dotted around the Town Hall green.

Charities and groups interested in registering to take part in Beaconsfield Now! can complete a form by visiting www.beaconsfieldsociety.org.uk.

The closing date for registration is May 6.
