A town society is calling on residents to nominate the 'grottiest' parts of Beaconsfield so they can be cleaned up by volunteers during an anti-litter event to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.

The Beaconsfield Society is spearheading a town-wide volunteer clean-up event on the weekend on March 5 and 6 as part of a campaign called 'Clean for the Queen', to rid the streets of rubbish in preparation for Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday, which is officially celebrated in June.

The society is asking residents to nominate a place they would like to see cleaned up to encourage pride in the town.

Here is a selection of the 'grot spots' nominated by residents so far:

Pond area on Wycombe End

Bucks Free Press:

Footpath between Malthouse Square and London End, Beaconsfield Old Town

Bucks Free Press:

Around Beaconsfield train station

Bucks Free Press:

Grass verges opposite Beaconsfield Cricket Club on A40

Bucks Free Press:

Behind shops on main High Street, Beaconsfield New Town

Bucks Free Press:

Garden area near Sainsbury's, Maxwell Road

Are these the grubbiest areas of Beaconsfield? Is there somewhere else you think needs clearing up?

Get in touch with The Beaconsfield Society and nominate a ‘grot spot’ on their website www.beaconsfieldsociety.org.uk or tweet them your suggestions @TheBecSoc.
