A church in Beaconsfield has helped survivors of child trafficking in the UK by hosting a mud run to raise vital funds for charity.

Hundreds of keen runners turned out as Latimer Minster held the mud run, consisting of a 5k adult course with six obstacles and a 3k family friendly course with five obstacles, on May 21 in their picturesque grounds at Stampwell Farm, London Road.

The church was supporting UK charity, Sport for Freedom, which uses sport, fitness and adventure to rehabilitate and reintegrate survivors of human trafficking back into society as well as raising awareness and education.

All of the proceeds raised from the event will go towards providing sports equipment, including a trampoline, for use in the UK’s first children’s safe house along with sports rehabilitation grants for the children.

Frog Orr-Ewing, Rector of Latimer Minister, said: “We are deeply committed to supporting local charity and doing what we can to fight the injustice of people trafficking.

“This Mud Run was a unique chance to open up the beautiful space we have at Stampwell Farm to provide an exciting family-friendly day. We hope it will be the first of many initiatives which bring us all together to change the world.”
