Nine people were caught using their mobile phones at the wheel on a busy road in Beaconsfield during a speed enforcement operation yesterday.
Officers from the Beaconsfield Neighbourhood police team spent Monday (June 20) in the town looking out for speeding drivers and caught ten speeding along the A355 Amersham Road. They also saw nine using their mobile phones and two without seatbelts on the same road.
One person was caught speeding on Burkes Road and three drivers on Sandelswood End, while none were caught speeding on Penn Road while police were on the scene.
In a message posted on the Thames Valley Alert system, Sgt Lucy Price said that while they saw a few drivers going just over the 40mph speed limit on Penn Road, they noticed “a lot of people flashing drivers who were coming into town and so obviously they slowed down.”
Anyone who would like to volunteer to take part in speed enforcement sessions in the town can get in touch with Sgt Price.
