A blaze ripped through a children's nursery yesterday afternoon, damaging rooms across two floors.

Emergency services raced to Brindley House Nursery, in Beaconsfield, after being called out at about 4.45pm on Saturday.

There was a fire in the ground and first floor of the two-storey detached building in Burkes Road, with four fire crews and a Bucks Fire and Rescue officer attending the scene.

Firefighters used a main jet, two hose reels, four sets of breathing apparatus, a turntable ladder and a positive pressure ventilation fan.

Hours later, fire crews carried out further inspections.

It is unclear how badly damaged the nursery building is, but pictures from the scene appear to show significant fire damage to a top floor window.

More as we get it.
