A woman who has travelled the world decided to settle in Bourne End to celebrate her 100th birthday with friends and family.
A tea party was held to celebrate Bridget Andrews’ special birthday on Tuesday, as family reminisced on the years gone by.
As well as receiving a card from the Queen, Bridget was treated with cake, party food and even a couple of glasses of Prosecco, her family said.
Daughter Jenny Jackson, who lives in Downley, added: "Mum is definitely well-travelled, Dad was in the RAF and posted to Naphill in 1967 and that’s why they moved here, but over the years they went all over the world.
"She was originally born in Ireland, but went to Singapore and has been here [Kingfishers care home] for about 18 months."
Bridget was joined at the party by two of her daughters and her grandson.
