A Bourne End movie club are holding a Grand Film Show in the village Community Centre next weekend.

The Bourne End Video Makers are celebrating film making in the area over the last 50 years by holding this special event on Sunday, May 31.

Doors open at 2.30pm for viewing of a small exhibition illustrating how film making equipment has developed technically over the years. Films to be shown from 3pm will also reflect the progress made in the quality of films produced using affordable domestic equipment.

A golf club is clubbing together to help offer youngsters an introduction into the sport during national golfing month.

Wycombe Heights Golf Centre, in Loudwater, has announced it is to give away 30 annual junior memberships, as part of the offer.

Throughout the initiative, designed to introduce more families into the game, Wycombe Heights will invite local visitors to enter into a prize draw, with the winners to be announced on June 1.

Families can enjoy the bank holiday weekend aboard a vintage steam cruise which is to set sail in Bourne End over three days.

From Saturday to Monday the “Alaska” 1883 steam passenger vessel will take customers along the River Thames for 50-minute trips.

Leaving from Bourne End Marina, tickets cost £10 for adults and £6 for children and OAPs.
