Each week we have a look at what is going on where you live, and below are details of a couple of events coming up in Bourne End.

Pupils, teachers and parents connected with a combined school in Bourne End will celebrate twenty years of success at the weekend.

Claytons Primary School PTA have organised a Summer Fair this Saturday and have invited past students and teachers to celebrate the milestone.

Attractions on the day will include a barbeque, tombola, Pimms and Rebellion Bar and a bouncy castle.

All fundraising on the day will support additional equipment, services and experiences for the 360 pupils at the school.

The event will run from 1pm to 4pm. For more information, contact claytonspta@yahoo.co.uk

Residents in Bourne End are expected to try and make this weekend’s village fete bigger and better than before.

The annual event will return to the village on Saturday, June 27, and is due to be held in the Community Centre, in Wakeman Road.

The four-hour event will start at 10am and there will be a number of stalls on display for people to look around.

Beaconsfield MP Dominic Grieve is also expected to attend.

A new information sign will be unveiled on a section of land in Bourne End this weekend.

Penny’s Corner was coined to acknowledge the constant cultivation of this area by former parish council chairman, Penny Walsh, and her husband Brian.

Previously the Nag’s Head public house stood on this important junction where the road from Cookham Bridge (or ferry before the bridge) connected with the route into Marlow and provided access to riverside wharves along the way.

A sign on the land will be unveiled by Cllr Sue Wagner at 11am on Saturday. More information and pictures of the area will be included on the sign.
