A Bourne End secondary school was forced to close today after a power failure.
Hundreds of schoolchildren were unable to attend Bourne End Academy this morning, with the school now set to be closed throughout the day.
A statement on the New Road school's website said the power failure “renders normal operation of the school on Friday impossible”.

Teachers have also apologised to students and parents for any inconvenience.
The school has confirmed they will update parents throughout the day, but it is not yet clear if they will able to reopen on Monday.
