A children's play area in Bourne End has closed for “the foreseeable future” following a fire this morning (February 8).

Firefighters rushed to Jungle Mania in Wessex Road at around 8.39 this morning after a fire broke out in the kitchen area, due to an electrical fault, causing “severe” smoke damage to the building.

One fire crew from Beaconsfield, one from High Wycombe and one from Slough attended the scene and used two hose reels, four sets of breathing apparatus and a PPV fan to extinguish the blaze.

Fortunately no one was injured however Jungle Mania posted on Facebook to say it will not open for the foreseeable future.

The statement said: “Earlier this morning we had a fire (due to an electrical fault) which has resulted in severe smoke damage to the inside of the building.

“No one was hurt in the fire which is the main thing however we will not be open for the foreseeable future. Anyone who has booked a party this weekend or next will be contacted today and any parties booked in the future will be contacted over the next few days.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will keep you updated regularly on the situation.”
