Armed police, dogs and a helicopter descended on a village last night amid reports that a man had a weapon.
At least ten police vehicles and dozens of officers - including armed police - were spotted near the Red Lion pub in Wooburn Green, with a police helicopter hovering over the scene for around 30 minutes.
The National Police Air Service base at RAF Benson said the police helicopter was called out following a "pub disturbance" and took video images of the scene while officers on the ground dispersed the patrons.
One side of The Green was closed to traffic while police dealt with the incident.
Officers were still on the scene at 9.40pm.
Thames Valley Police have now confirmed that they were called to the scene after receiving reports that a man was in possession of a weapon.
A 28-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
He was taken into police custody but later released without charge.
No weapons were found and no-one was injured.
