New police chiefs have been appointing to oversee the Chiltern and South Bucks area.

Supt Yvette Hitch has been announced as the new policing commander for the district, taking up her role earlier this month following a promotion.

She will be joined by a new Chief Inspector, Sarah Grahame.

Supt Hitch took up her new post on April 7 after her predecessor Steve Hockin moved to Thames Valley Police headquarters following a promotion to the rank of Chief Superintendent.

She said: "I am looking forward to heading up a policing area and working with local partners to deliver a high quality service to local residents.

"I have already started to get to know my team and partner agencies and the public but will continue to do this over the forthcoming weeks and months. This is helped by the fact that I already know the area having worked in Bucks before."

Supt Hitch has been a police officer for 27 years and the most recent role out of many she has filled in that time was as deputy police area commander for Oxford City.

She will be supported by Ch Insp Grahame, who has been in Chiltern and South Bucks since January after being promoted from detective inspector.

The mum-of-three said: "I have really enjoyed the past few months working as deputy LPA commander for Chiltern and South Bucks and look forward to the weeks and months ahead.

"There is some great work that goes on across the LPA, which has seen some great reductions in overall crime and certain crime categories."
